diy spring topiary

supplies needed:
2 unfinished topiary's (i got mine from hobby lobby w/ a coupon of course)
hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
spanish moss
terracotta pots

directions:
evenly distribute hot glue on the unfinished topiary, starting at the bottom of the ball, working your way to the top.  make sure the entire ball is covered.  be sure to go back and touch up spots that were not completely covered.  if you like you could trim down the moss to make it more uniform.  i personally liked the look of unruly moss.  also, i didn't have the paint to do so, but i'm going to go back and distress the terracotta pots with a little bit of white paint.  all in all a very simple and affordable way to spruce up your spring decor!

for the time being....

for the time being, i won't be accepting any custom orders.  i've gotten a little burnt out, so i think i just need to take a little break. there is a possibility that i may just have a small inventory in the future and possibly do away with the custom orders all together.  i have always done custom orders to ensure that my clients get exactly what they want, however, there is a lot of work involved on my end and i want to make sure that my hobby doesn't pull me away from my sweet babies.  hope you all understand. thanks!

the new "blog lift" eeeeek!!!

ok so i decided to give this blog a little face lift. and since i'm kinda spazzy at using the computer i had none other than miss jodie over at jodie noted...she is an amazing and very talented designer. jodie was super easy to work with and i was pleasantly surprised that she truly does want your honest to goodness opinion, because she wants to create something that you as the client will love, but also speaks to her own creativity as a designer. she was an absolute pleasure to work with, so go on an check her out! thanks again jodie...u da bomb!

so, i've never really decorated for halloween because i just thought it was kind a silly "holiday" if you will. and mostly because i've never really cared for the decor found in the stores. well this year i was flipping through better homes and garden magazine and they featured an interior decorater whose entire theme was black and white! i loved it! immediately i started brainstorming ideas for my mantle. so, this is what i came up with. everything on my mantle aside from the bones, cheese cloth, and black crows, were things i already had...so it made decorating even better! my friend brought over her silloette and she cut out the bats and letters for us. i made the paper bat garland with simple twine. the window was something i had and i just draped the cheesecloth over it and threw the letters on and tossed in some spiders. for the twig and bone bouquet, i already had the twigs, vase, and ribbon. i put some moss in the bottom of the vase and added the bones and twigs. the crows are by far my favorite part! i found them at the dollar store!!!! they are great because they have wire attached to their feet so you can place them any way you like. for the art work on the sofa table, we placed newspaper in frames that we already had and used the silloette to cut the bats and letters, i didn't even glue mine down, just placed them randomly in the frame and put the back on. i thrifted the silver candlestick and taped the skeleton head to the top and spaced out some leftover bones on the table. i found mr. skeleton at walmart for $10. in the glass bowl is another cute little crow sitting on top of some moss, i'm bummed because you can't see him very well in the picture, but he's my absolute favorite part!
